Thank you for signing the petition asking the Obama Administration to acknowledge an extraterrestrial presence here on Earth.
The U.S. government has no evidence that any life exists outside our planet, or that an extraterrestrial presence has contacted or engaged any member of the human race. In addition, there is no credible information to suggest that any evidence is being hidden from the public's eye.

However, that doesn't mean the subject of life outside our planet isn't being discussed or explored. In fact, there are a number of projects working toward the goal of understanding if life can or does exist off Earth. Here are a few examples:

SETI—the Search for ExtraTerrestrial Intelligence—was originally stood up with help from NASA, but has since been moved to other sources of private funding. SETI's main purpose is to act as a giant ear on behalf of the human race, pointing an array of ground-based telescopes towards space to listen for any signal from another world.
Kepler is a NASA spacecraft in Earth orbit that's main goal is to search for Earth-like planets. Such a planet would be located in the "Goldilocks" zone of a distant solar system—not too hot and not too cold—and could potentially be habitable by life as we know it. The Kepler mission is specifically designed to survey our region of the Milky Way galaxy to discover Earth-sized, rocky planets in or near the habitable zone of the star (sun) they orbit.
The Mars Science Laboratory, Curiosity, is an automobile-sized rover that NASA is launching soon. The rover's onboard laboratory will study rocks, soils, and other geology in an effort to detect the chemical building blocks of life (e.g., forms of carbon) on Mars and will assess what the Martian environment was like in the past to see if it could have harbored life.

A last point: Many scientists and mathematicians have looked with a statistical mindset at the question of whether life likely exists beyond Earth and have come to the conclusion that the odds are pretty high that somewhere among the trillions and trillions of stars in the universe there is a planet other than ours that is home to life.
Many have also noted, however, that the odds of us making contact with any of them—especially any intelligent ones—are extremely small, given the distances involved.
But that's all statistics and speculation. The fact is we have no credible evidence of extraterrestrial presence here on Earth.

These are 2 really interesting clips that I shared with YouTube guru LunaCognita. The stabilization and enhancement on the above video is his work, and following is his analysis of the video:

I’ll go on the record here and say that this video is
a CGI hoax. At first glance anyway, this is definitely some intriguing footage purportedly showing us a UFO as it slowly passes near an apartment complex before suddenly streaking off in a brilliant flash of light, but I think it is a fake.

Not even taking the rather bizarre provenance of this video into account, here are a few things that may point to this footage being a fraud. Firstly, in the first part of the footage, watch what happens when the UFO moves across the frame and comes in contact with with the first power line that is running across the FOV. I call this a “crossover” sequence here, where the UFO has to transit past or be transited by a known stable object in frame. Anytime someone wants to fake footage like this, these crossover points are very important considerations that an image manipulator/faker would have to take into consideration when building the hoax.

Take note how the INSTANT the upper portion of the UFO comes in contact with this first power line, the camera “coincidentally” zooms in quickly. The camera zoom begins EXACTLY at the moment of first contact with the power line - basically, the “initial contact” frame where the UFO first touches and begins crossing over the powerline is exactly the same frame where the zoom begins. Just 2 seconds later, the camera quickly zooms out again.

Now, this “zoom during crossover” coincidental timing is actually a rather standard digital video obfuscative technique a hoaxer can employ to help hide evidence of the fraud they are committing. NASA uses this technique all the time. For example, it was employed to help obfuscate some of the STS-75 “Tether” footage during object crossovers. In this particular video here, the exact timing of this crossover coinciding with the zoom may just be “coincidental”, or may be an obfuscative trick.

That particular “zoom coincidence” hoaxing technique exploits the introduction of camera zoom at exactly the right moment so that when the objects begin their crossover, that visual evidence is suppressed or even destroyed - ruined by the way a digital video camera handles the rapidly shrinking field-of-view. Essentially, any time you see digitized video footage where rapid magnification is occurring like we see here, it means that the focal characteristics of the scene are going to be changing slightly during the zoom due to digital interpolation and compression characteristics that are introduced by the recording device or the video compressor. Those natural digital camera effects serve to blur the scene very slightly to help smooth the transition during the zoom. The zoom also has a consequence of magnifying any camera shake, and shake of course also serves to introduce more interpolation blur even after the camera has finished zooming in.

Now, those are entirely normal things you expect to see in digital video footage, and because of that, these things can be exploited by any decent hoaxer to aid in hiding evidence of the fakery they are committing. That may be why you are seeing the camera zoom the instant the UFO begins the crossover here.

If the UFO is a fake CGI composite that was digitally inserted into this background scene (as I believe it was), then when the CGI UFO is crossing over the power line, the faker would want to make the power line appear in front of the UFO, with the UFO behind. Doing that is not that difficult, but requires manipulation of the raw scene and the composite UFO in order to layer the UFO in behind the power line, and the camera zoom may very well have been employed here to help obfuscate the start of the crossover. During the crossover, once the focus settles back down, the contrast increases slightly, and if you look closely you see it appears like the power line can be faintly seen passing in front of the UFO. The UFO also appears to fade into and out of cloud cover as well, changing it’s transparency. It is easy to create that kind of effect digitally nowadays.

We see that the UFO crosses the other two darker power lines near the end of the first scene, and if this UFO is CGI, those two power lines would be easier to layer behind than the first one was because those last two power lines are much darker and more defined. If you look closely at the UFO during those last two power line crossovers, it appears like there may be a slight delay in the UFO’s appearance as it crosses over and starts emerging on the opposite side of the power line. That could be a natural issue with the camera’s CCD as it detects the emerging contrast on the other side of the power line, or it could be evidence of manipulation.

CAMERA#2 - Notice there is what looks like a bird that flies past and actually transits in front of the UFO, appearing to show that the UFO is behind the bird. I think the bird may be just a fake composite, inserted to create the evidence to make it look like the UFO was really there when the scene was shot.

What really bothers me about this footage is that it is clearly supposed to be handheld footage, but the camera does NOT pan and follow the UFO! It just shows it full frame - exactly like you would do if you were a lazy hoaxer and filmed the normal backdrop first before adding the CGI composite UFO in, and never took into account UFO movement beforehand! Any real cameraman witnessing something like this would definitely pan the camera to follow the UFO, but instead, we get not one but TWO different camera views showing this thing, with no panning, yet the camera shake demonstrates it is clearly supposed to be handheld footage. Basically, that camera behavior is EXACTLY what you might expect to see if the hoaxer filmed the background first and then inserted the CGI UFO later.

Personally, I think this footage may have originally been shot on a tripod, then they used really basic field of view manipulation to hide the original outside camera borders, then introduced artificial shake during post-production when they were inserting the CGI UFO. That is what you can do to make sure the shake of the original scene and the shake of the fake composite UFO you inserted match up - you film it on a tripod then introduce the CGI UFO, then introduce artificial shake after compositing to make it look like handheld footage. That way, the shake of the UFO appears to match the shake of the camera perfectly - a requirement to a good hoax. This artificial shake technique, when done correctly, there is really no way to prove they are doing it - especially in a case like with this UFO footage here where we do not have any info on the camera type or lens on the video camera that was supposedly being used.

Oh, and the departure of this UFO, while visually interesting, would be insanely easy to fake too. That is really the big problem. The coincidences and lack of camera panning point to possible manipulation, and there really is no background information available for this footage that can give it any measure of credibility.

Anyways, all those things together, coupled with the craziness of how the video was quickly removed, really make me question the authenticity of this footage. Basically, all those coincidences I am seeing in those two videos stick out like a sore thumb and just scream “fake footage” at me, so it really causes me to challenge the authenticity of it. Definitely worth us taking a closer look at though!

CANBERRA, Australia, June 18 (UPI) -- A respected Australian scientist says a population explosion and unbridled consumption will drive the human race to extinction in 100 years.

Professor Frank Fenner, emeritus professor of microbiology at the Australian National University, direly predicted "homo sapiens will become extinct, perhaps within 100 years," Britain's Daily Mail reported Wednesday.

"It's an irreversible situation," Fenner told The Australian newspaper. "I think it's too late. I try not to express that because people are trying to do something, but they keep putting it off."

Since the era of industrialization, Fenner said, humans have had an effect on the planet rivaling any ice age or comet impact.

Fenner, 95, says climate change will be the main factor in the demise of humanity.

"We'll undergo the same fate as the people on Easter Island," he says.

"Climate change is just at the very beginning. But we're seeing remarkable changes in the weather already."

A colleague of Fenner says such deep pessimism may be premature.

"Frank may well be right," retired Professor Stephen Boyden said, "but some of us believe there will come about an awareness of the situation (with the resulting) revolutionary changes necessary to achieve ecological sustainability."
